History
The Yochlol is a minor, but no less strong, type of demon that acts as a "servant" of Lolth, the Drow goddess. Its natural habitat is the Abyss.
Only high priestesses of the Spider Queen are told how to summon a yochlol and it is supposed only to be called upon in dire need or to witness sacrifices on behalf of their dark goddess.
In their natural form they appear tentacle-like blobs of melted wax and continually emit a nauseating stench. They also have the power to change their forms, usually to a gentle Drow female (though other elves and humans are possible for them) or a large spider (usually a black widow). They can also change themselves into a gaseous form, allowing them to kill their victims unknowingly by inhaling, then suffocating them. They are ruthless killers, powerful and wrathful, but are very afraid of the cold.
