History

Their fondness for wine is famous, which transforms them into unpleasant and somewhat uncouth, even aggressive beings.

One of the legends of Greek mythology tells that the first centaur was Chiron. Chiron was a titan who went to war with the young gods of Olympus, but lost. As punishment, Apollo, the god of light and reason, turned him into half man and half horse with supernatural strength.

Legend tells how he was wounded by a poisonous arrow and, after a time of agony, gave up his immortality. Chiron gave up his immortality to Prometheus, another titan. Zeus, as thanks for this gesture, drew Chiron's centaur form in a constellation and gave him the name Sagittarius.
