History
Some Slayers, despite their efforts to find and engage the most formidable foes, do not satisfy their desire to die in battle. Through constant struggle, these unique Matadors become increasingly scarred and dangerous. Surviving their terrible life for so long requires luck or a martial skill they have honed to the utmost, or perhaps a mixture of both. Now known as Dragon Slayers or Demon Slayers, these anguished warriors are morally bound by their oath to continue their quest for death, against increasingly fierce foes.
A Dragon Slayer or Demon Slayer is usually accompanied by a group of younger Dwarves belonging to the Cult of the Slayers. They join these expert assassins because they know that, in their quest for ultimate destiny, it will lead them to enemies on a par with their oath. This attraction is not appreciated by the irascible and laconic Dragon Slayers or Demon Slayers, for although they know that in this way news of their exploits or of their great death will reach the Dwarven strongholds, they are solitary by nature and resent any distraction. They are committed to dying gloriously fighting monsters, not to leading others or caring for newcomers. Furthermore, although none would dare admit it, these veteran Slayers do not want one of their followers to have a lucky break and snatch away the glorious end of facing an epic beast whose death would be worthy of a war hymn. These beings when they attack never flee the scene and their onslaught is always in triplicate.
