History

Crossbows are not popular weapons among the Empire's troops, though Tilean mercenaries are often recruited to augment the firepower of an Elector Count's army. Some Counts in the southernmost provinces hire units of Crossbowmen as part of their Regular Troops. Crossbows have a longer range than arquebuses and are more easily produced, though they lack the penetrating power of firearms; but, in the hands of an expert, they are as lethal.
