History
Beneath the mud lie the bones of these ancestral and resentful warriors. Because they have been buried for so long, their armor is rusted and their limp hands still hold the swords, axes, spears and shields they held in life.
Regiments of past massacres make their way to the surface, their eye sockets glowing with unholy power. Silently, they gather, trying to compose their former ranks, silently awaiting their new lord's orders and waving their tattered banners in the unnatural breeze of their creation. The lipless musicians blow their horns and raise them in a funereal, spectral chant. Although a Skeleton no longer has flesh to cut or organs to penetrate, a precise shot can destroy it. Decapitation or a cut to the spine is enough to release the spirit of a Skeleton Warrior from the earthly plane, and a heavy blow from a heavy weapon such as a hammer or club can shatter a Skeleton.
