Fame Points
Fame points are generated in the cities. Each city produces 1 point as a base and then more can be generated in the following ways:
- 1 Point for each star in the Monuments.
- 1 point for each 40 buildings that the city in question has
- 1 point for each star in the Architecture policy (Only Dwarves)
- 1 Point for each star in the Tortures policy (Only Orcs, Dark Elves and Undead)
- 5 Fame Points for each attack received won
- 20% (rounded down) of fame points if the empire in question belongs to the Peaceful Empires group.
- Fame x1.5 in regions 6 of Gaia and 16 of Leza (Bonus only granted to the ruling clan and applied to the cities of that clan that are located in that region).
Fame can be spent on many things, and deciding what to spend it on is something that will set the course of your empire:
When you want to redeem the fame of one of your cities, you go to [Redeem] and there opens a window like the one below:
(Elves type window)
Options to redeem the fame
- General's speech: requirement: 40 fame points. Increases by 50% the morale of the city (maximum 100%).
- Immigration: requirement: 30 fame points. Increases the population by a certain number. The more population the city has, the less it increases.
- Special troops: requirement: Elves: 150 fame points; Other races: 200 fame points. Grants the player approximately 6000 levels of a random high level troop. The level of the troop depends on how advanced the game is.
- Economic treaty: requirement: 30 fame points. Grants a certain amount of gold. The amount depends on the current value of the empire.
- Merchants: requirement: 30 fame points. Your empire gains a resource. The amount of the resource you get is the amount you would get from spending the gold from an Economic Treaty to buy the resource at the day's trade prices.
- Heal hero: requirements: 20 fame points, have a wounded hero. Heals a wound of the hero, saving the player from having to wait for the passing of the day.
- Prosperity: requirement: 300 fame points. Your empire gains 50 turns.
- Recruitment: requirement: 60 fame points. Gives the player approximately 2000 troop levels up to N9.
- City on Alert: requirement: 80 fame points. Gives the city protection for 24hs.
- Remove adversity: requirement: 60 fame points. Removes any adversity, either by low status, or by Dark Elf or Undead attacks, as well as the random Earthquake and Flood.
- Demonic Portal: requirements: to be Undead, the city must have 50,000 population or more, 150 fame points. Grants between 4 and 6 Soul Devourers N45.
Tips:
- Don't exhaust the fame in your best cities. You never know when they may fall to some random adversity, or by losing an attack (black plague, harassment).
- Using fame as soon as you have it is not convenient either, unless it is necessary.
- It is necessary to think well before spending it, since it can only be obtained by saving (unlike any other resource that can always be bought, except Karma and Mana).
- It is convenient to have fame to put the cities in Alert (free of attacks for 24hs.) the last day of the game.
- Don't use your fame just because you have it, you never know when a war may come. Fame could get you out of trouble.
