Objective

The main objective of the game is to have fun trying to progressively increase the size of your empire, i.e. found or conquer new cities, empower your heroes and maximize resource production to climb the daily rankings while competing with other players.

Forging an empire

This exciting game is composed of 3 main parts namely:

  • Heroes: they are characters whose training you can upgrade as they level up. They have combat capabilities and can move around the map performing attacks as long as you assign them an army greater than 500 troop levels.

  • Cities: they are small towns that you can found and that will grow every day. You will be able to develop their buildings as you like or need. Cities can be conquered by other empires, so you must never forget to assign them an army according to their importance. Each city is the one that produces the necessary resources to grow and the troops to defend itself.

  • Resources: are elements produced by the constructions that you develop in the cities. The missing resources can be acquired in the Trade section as long as you have enough gold. Managing your resources well will be fundamental to make your empire grow.

After choosing your empire name and the race you will play with, you must found a new city in a region where you want to set up your empire, selecting one of the land available. Each terrain has certain advantages/disadvantages and some productive bonuses. The map corresponding to the game you chose has different regions. If you are lucky and then join a clan that rules that region, you will have access to interesting additional bonuses.

It will then be convenient to increase in that city 1 point or star in different buildings that will help you to produce resources (gold, iron, wood, etc.), accommodate the low levels of state (happiness, hygiene, corruption, etc.) and supply food and water to the city by increasing crops, storage, wells or aqueduct. It is also important that you increase the Castle of your city as soon as possible, so that it will generate more troops every day, which you can then buy to defend and attack.

You will be able to acquire a Hero and perform some Quests to collect some Gold, extra resources and get experience to level them up and get development points to enhance their different characteristics.

If you decide to try the game with a single city, don't worry about enemy attacks since you will enter the Single City category and you won't be able to be attacked.

You will leave this category as soon as you make the first attack on another empire and you will return to it if these two things happen:

  • You are still with a single city.
  • 5 days have passed since your last attack.

If you have more than one city, you enter the Normal category and you can be attacked by any other player in your rank. Buy as many troops as you can in the cities, as this will allow you to keep them well defended and at a given moment, pass some to your hero and start attacking.

Each attack received in which you are beaten, the city will lose morale and will increase the probability of being conquered in the next attack. Therefore, it will also be necessary for you to evaluate the development of defensive buildings, such as walls, armories and moats.

Continue constructing buildings in your city, such as sawmills (generate wood) and mines (generate various types of resources). And if you are ambitious and willing, even the first day you could found up to 2 or 3 cities, it is a risky way to start but you can do very well and be on top of the rankings from the beginning.

Until when to found?

That depends on the strategy you choose. Founding cities will become more and more expensive, and even if you can recover the investment by constructing buildings, there will come a point when it will be uphill. From the tenth city onwards things start to get pretty hard to continue founding, because don't forget that each of them must be well defended and other empires will try to take them away from you.

You will have to decide between investing large sums of gold and resources to found or go out with your hero to travel the map in search of cities to conquer.

When you found a city you invest a considerable sum of gold and certain resources (Food, Water, Wood, Tools and Stone) that will make you drop points. But the city comes with population, 1 building constructed and 600 levels of troops already stationed to defend it. From then on, you will have to invest to develop its production and you will increase your points.

You will have to study yourself to what extent it is profitable to found, depending on whether you go alone, if you go in a clan, if that clan has a built wonder, etc.

Remember that being peaceful decreases the gold cost of foundations by 20% and cities come with 50% population.

For example, if you are peaceful, to found city number 7 in your empire you will need:

  Gold=560.000 Food=30.000 Water=30.000
  Wood=12.000 Tools=3.000 Stone=9.000

All this will be subtracted from your coffers, which represents a drop in points, but between the population that the city brings (in this case 21,000 inhabitants), the troops it brings (600 levels) and the buildings that can be constructed, the balance is clearly positive.

== How to conquer?

The first thing that must happen when you make an attack on a city is that you achieve victory. Then there will be a percentage that can vary for the conquest to take place. If you are lucky and conquer it, that city will become part of your empire, no matter where it is on the map.

When you conquer a city, and there are still troops in its army, these are dispersed and the city is without troops but with a protection time in hours that depends on the game you have chosen.

It also loses 15% of its population and some buildings. Regardless of the morale at the time of the attack, if you conquer it, the morale will be fixed at 50% and it will be your responsibility to see how you defend it so that every day the morale goes up until it is restored to 100%.

Are you ready to start?

Tips when starting your empire:

  • If you only found a city, you can not buy troops immediately (as long as you have only 1 city it can never be attacked as long as you don't make attacks) and you could use that gold and those turns to build something else.

  • If you are a new empire, with no history of previous games, the system gives you an "extended protection" of 120 hours in which nobody can attack you, even if you have more than one city. You will not be able to attack during that period of time either. Take advantage of this protection to strengthen your empire.

  • Found the last city in Coast (as long as you are not Dark Elf) to get more bonus in population (of course, if the region you are going to has no Coast... you will found in another terrain!) Each city you found comes with a higher starting population.

  • The first days are key to define how your empire goes. What buildings you choose to build, what you spend your resources on and your turns will be essential for the further development of your empire.

  • The common thing is to raise the buildings that increase the population (Aqueduct and Warehouse), those that generate fame (Monuments) and more troops at the beginning (Castles), as well as to develop the key Political policies according to the race you have chosen to play with.

  • Keep in mind that the first day of each game (day zero) lasts about 6hs, so if you found before the day step (22 hours of Spain) the cities will be under protection until after the first step of the first day. This fact is important to take into account since it would be a waste to raise defensive buildings and spend on acquiring troops that can be bought at the next day step, where you are again granted turns, gold and resources.

  • Also don't forget that if more than one city is founded, the last one to be founded will be the one with the highest population and therefore the best to establish your "Capital" where you will produce the highest levels of troops, because the higher the population, the more new levels of troops will be available. To understand how to produce new troops take a look at How to get more and better troops.

  • If you want to found only one city to avoid being attacked and while practicing how to move troops and attack with your hero, it would be interesting for you to experiment in the Adventures section where you can get experience for your hero, some gold and points for each victory you get.

  • If you decide to start with several cities, evaluate to develop productive buildings evenly, for example it will be better to build 2 stars in sawmills in each city than to build 6 in only one. Also check what bonuses your terrain has and the race you chose to play.

  • If you are left with cities with alarms, do not worry, during the first 3 steps of the game day no adversities are generated, so that you have time and resources to gradually remove the alarms. The 3 steps are from the beginning of the game, not from the foundation of your empire. If you start your empire on day zero, you will have those 3 days of grace without adversities, but if you start on day 5, be very careful with the alarms because the next step could bring you an adversity.
